Ninth Swiss Education Lab Webinar
The ninth SEL webinar is about how to enter the job market after graduation?
The aim of the SEL webinar series is to present scientific analyses of the Swiss education system, reflect on them from the perspective of education system actors and discuss the conclusions in the context of global education systems.
An analysis of the situation in the Swiss youth labour market (age up to 25 years) shows that the number of fixed-term contracts under 18 months has increased over time. This could be due to the fact that university graduates have to complete internships after graduation before they can transfer to a permanent position.
In the ninth SEL webinar, Maria Esther from ETH Zurich presents the results of a study on whether dual VET, which generates work experience, not only facilitates direct entry into the labour market, but also brings benefits for people who complete tertiary education through the second cycle and then enter the labour market. Barbara La Cara of ETH Zurich presents an answer to ETH's strategic initiatives regarding entry into the labour market: The ETH Competence Grid.
