Backstopping and Learning for the QualiTY Project (B&L for QualiTY) is designed to support and generate learning for the Quality Technical and Vocational Education and Training for the Youth (QualiTY) Project. Working alongside the QualiTY project in its key intervention areas, B&L aims to facilitate learning on various critical aspects of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) in Nepal. Additionally, it seeks to develop an exemplary model for the international community in the areas of State and TVET System Building within a federal context.

This research and training initiative is managed by a consortium comprising CeSoed (Consortium of the Chair of Education System - CES), ETH Zurich, and Kathmandu University School of Education (KUSOED). From KUSOED, Prof. Mahesh Nath Parajuli serves as the Team Leader, with Prof. Prakash C. Bhattarai, Dr. Suresh Gautam, and Dr. Prakash Kumar Paudel as team members. At ETH Zurich, Prof. Ursula Renold leads the team, supported by Dr. Patrick McDonald, Dr. Katty Caves, and Ditjyola Naco.

Objectives:
Periodically assess the QualiTY project’s intervention strategies and working approaches, extract key learnings, and provide recommendations to project implementers to optimize implementation and achieve results.
Produce policy briefs for policymakers in Nepal and internationally, focusing on federal state-building and federal TVET systems.
