Driving Education Permeability Forward in Costa Rica

CES recently led key discussions in Costa Rica, pushing for more flexible education systems and pathways for learners.

We are happy to share an update from Costa Rica, where Professor Ursula Renold and Dr. Patrick McDonald recently engaged in pivotal discussions on education system reform.

Professor Renold was honored to address the CONARE (National Council of University Rectors) congress, extending congratulations to the National Training Institute (INA) on their 60th anniversary. She emphasized the critical importance of advancing Vocational Education and Training (VET) and shared insights on building effective educational frameworks.

A key focus of their visit was the discussion on full permeability in education systems and its significant implications for Costa Rica. These conversations highlighted our commitment to fostering seamless educational pathways.

The visit also provided a valuable opportunity for Professor Renold and Dr. McDonald to reconnect with CEMETS alumni from Costa Rica and collaborate with colleagues from the University of Costa Rica (INIE) on ongoing research projects. We commend the dedication of all involved in driving these crucial reforms forward.
