MAVETA’s External Evaluation Visit to Armenia: Monitoring Progress and Preparing for the Next Phase

Empowering Armenia's Agricultural Future: Enhancing Skills, Employment, and Innovation through MAVETA

As part of the MAVETA project’s external evaluation, Ditjola Naco and Michelle Palayil visited Armenia to review ongoing achievements and lay the groundwork for the next phase, scheduled to begin this summer. In Yerevan, meetings were held with the Deputy Ministers of Education and Economy, as well as with key implementing partners, to discuss results and define future priorities.

During the visit, VET colleges in Goris and Sisian were toured, where teachers, students, parents, local farmers, and instructors provided firsthand insights into the project’s impact. Focus groups were also convened with representatives from various associations and other VET initiatives to gather comprehensive feedback. The evaluation is now being finalized, bolstered by the strong momentum of VET in Armenia. The team looks forward to delivering actionable recommendations that will further enhance skills, employment, and innovation in the country’s agricultural sector.

In Yerevan, we had insightful discussions with:
✅ Mr. Arman Khojoyan, Deputy Minister of Economy
✅ Ms. Araxia Svajyan, Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sport (MoESCS)
✅ Ms. Armenuhi Poghosyan, Head of the VET Department within MoESCS
✅ Representatives from HEKS, SDA, ADA, and GIZ

We're looking forward to seeing the outcomes!
